  • Your website URL
  • Opening hours
  • Professional photos

2. Choose the right primary category  

When creating or optimizing your Google My Business profile, choosing the correct primary category is crucial for good ranking.

In fact, it allows Google to understand exactly what your business does and to display it in the most relevant search results.


Select a category that precisely describes what you offer (ex : “premium hairdresser,” “tapas restaurant,” “auto repair shop”).


This improves your visibility in search engines and increases your chances of appearing in front of truly interested customers (qualified and ready to take action).

3. Verify each of your locations 

Yes ! Without this verification, your business will not appear in search results.

3. Click on “Validate” (or “Verify,” depending on the version).

4. Choose your verification method (postal mail, SMS, email, or phone call)

5. Once you receive the code, enter it in your dashboard to complete the verification.


4. Craft a strong Google My Business description 

The description of your business is one of the first elements users read.


👉 It must catch attention quickly.


Use relevant keywords related to your activity, your services, and your location. Be clear, concise, and helpful : highlight what makes you unique (expertise, experience, specialty, atmosphere…).


  1. Mention your city or service area to strengthen your local visibility.
  2. Include your key products and services to help Google (and your customers !) clearly understand what you offer.


5. Add relevant attributes 

Google My Business attributes allow you to add specific information about your business : accepted payment methods, accessibility, available equipment, atmosphere, delivery options, etc.

How to do it ?

1. Click on “View profile” from your Google Business Profile.

2. Click on “Edit profile” (or “Edit listing”)

3. Go to the “More” section, then click to add or edit the attributes.

4. Check the options that apply to your business :


  • Payment methods
  • Accessibility for people with disabilities
  • Woman-owned
  • LGBTQ+ friendly
  • Delivery
  • Wi-Fi
  • Parking, etc.


5. Then save (the attributes will appear on your profile after Google’s validation).

6. Correct the marker on Google Maps 

Check and adjust the pin (or marker) showing your business location on Google Maps. Make sure it points precisely to your entrance or building to avoid any confusion and make it easier for customers to find you.
